The Demon King’s Castle in Ruins
The human race attacking the Demon King’s castle is nothing new and has happened countless times before. What makes this time different though, is that the Adventurers decided to join forces with the Imperial Army and the ‘Hero of Caerleon’ to lead a full onslaught in hopes of wiping out the Demons once and for all. They attacked the Demon stronghold with overwhelming numbers and succeeded in its total destruction. All of the demons in the castle were taken prisoner except for one lone skeleton named ‘Skul’.
Side-Scrolling Platformer Action
‘Skul: The Hero Slayer’ is an action-platformer that boasts rogue-like features such as everchanging and challenging maps. It will keep you on your toes, as you will never know what to expect.
Tons of skulls, tons of playable characters
Skul is no ordinary skeleton. In addition to his formidable fighting skills, he can gain new and exciting abilities depending on which skull he’s wearing. Use up to 2 skulls at a time, each of which has its own unique attack range, speed and power. Choose combos that match your playing style and switch them in the heat of battle to bring your enemies to their knees. The power is in your hands!
The Adventurers
Skul has crossed paths with a party of Adventurers! They are powerful foes that hunt Demons for sport. While Skul may be small, he still packs quite a punch. So just wait and see who really is the hunter and who is the hunted….
Bosses Corrupted by Dark Quartz
At the end of every chapter, go head-to-head with massive bosses corrupted with Dark Quartz and powerful beyond belief. Derived from the pain and hate of life itself, Dark Quartz taints and takes control of everything it touches.

i have a question if you upgrade a skull with bones does it stay permanent? Or is it only on 1 run?
The werewolf skull is actually preety good, especially with upgrades.
Wander should cheat the dark quartz in so he can see how much it affects the game

Yes it’s leeeeerooy jeeeenkins
Hey Wander, although I do somewhat agree that the game is kinda broken difficulty wise. You also don’t change your strategy when fighting the tree boss much.
You dodge to the same side (usually the left). You jump at the same time almost every time. And you use a ranged weapon up close 😫whyyyyy!
You could have beaten him way sooner if you just took your rime and varied your strategy. I believe in you man, I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you!!😩😩😂
Btw all skulls can be upgraded so all of them except legendary can be improved
I'm personally loving the game. the fact that not all skulls are equal makes it even more fun for me because youll have to adapt (even if you know the enemies' attacks). Still think there are improvements to be made and will love to see knew enemy variety later down the line
The damage on the mummy is so bad, I almost wanted to cry when you get rid of the werewolf
When I saw the skeleton-ent: I AM GROOT!!!
its kinda like dead cells but balance is kinda wack
actually could borrow some mechanics from it.
I beat the elder ent with 2 common skuls I can never get good ones 🙁
try dashing away from the ents fists right when they are starting to slam instead of jumping over them if your in their path they will hurt you. jumping over them causes unnecessary damage

Didn’t got lucky like the first skul video
I've played a lot of roguelites and to tell you the truth this isn't one of the best its good but that is it. Even with full upgrades act 3 is the most difficult, act 4 is also difficult and act 5 is just plain easy. Not only that they had so much unexplored or unexpanded content that can be found in other games that it is better to just play those instead of this. I like the game completed it, 100% achievement it but not gonna touch it for a long time, compare this to hades or dead cells that I come back frequently too it just doesn't give me that sense of progress maybe because the game was too short or maybe because it was just tedious.
It's not that hard, you just have to never take damage and never stop dealing damage!
Duh!
…/s
So I know from your usual style that you're probably way ahead of this by now, but something I just that I'd add is that the Treant bosses sweep attack is one that should have an intuitive tell but doesn't.
I'm guessing it's due to the fact that his palms aren't connected to his torso by arms, or that there's something a little wonky with the animation of it. But when I played the game, I found that the best way to think about the attack is to imagine that he's stretching his hand far off-screen in one direction (which causes him to lean in that direction) he then pulls his hand back all the way across the screen. The attack would probably feel better if you could like see his hand in the background. or if he kept the hand he wasn't sweeping on-screen in the background, but skul is one of those games that has a lot of heart in it, but also jank in these weird very polished ways. I can't really explain it, but you've probably already been picking up on it.
46:13 You Forgot to save a Guy right here. He was in a Cage. and You Forgot to save him. D:
When you said that you came across an accessory that increased jump count, I was in the shop and found a food that increased my jump count.
Also, the "upgrades" that you're referring to, the ones that use Dark Quartz ARE permanent, it's just that most people thought you were referring to the skull "upgrades" from the spider lady, which enhances the abilities of skulls.
Me thinking. Discovered awesome switch demo for action rpg, Fallen Legion revenant, I wonder if wander would like it as a 3 hour series.
Wander at 29 minutes: no
Me: wow that was weird.
It'd be cool if you could collect the skulls like the power-ups in Hollow Knight…
Btw can you eventually showcase all the legendaries no matter how lame they seem to you because all the skull are kinda good now
That hp pool on the tree boss feels like when you first off try to kill a boss whit commando in risk of rain 2 whitout any damage items
"I don't enjoy games that are really hard"
> Plays Rogue-Likes
yo wanderbot, the upgrades do persist through the whole game.
I like the interactive background in this game
You don't "stick it out" on parks and rec. You read a one-paragraph summary of season one and start your journey on Season two. Nothing happens season 1 that can't be explained in under 3 minutes.
Gotta love how he talks about how some skulls are bad just because he doesn't understand how to use them. At some point you gotta stop trying to say the game is bad and just say "Okay I suck let me practice and get better"
Meta progression making even weak skulls strong sounds like a terrible idea in my opinion. Then you just upgrade a common skull a ton and never attempt to use anything else.
It is a hard game. Playing it, I'm kinda getting this vibe like "What if Dead Cells, but the game hates you?" And I already felt like Dead Cells was fairly challenging. It's definitely much more difficult than Hades, although I think part of that comes from just the general amount of shit to keep track of. There're so many enemies and so many animations onscreen, both yours and theirs, that it can be really difficult to pick up on incoming attacks through all the visual clutter.
If you Dont like hard games then never play Dark Souls or Bloodborne and never ever play sekiro.
wanderbots: says skull is bad
me: a rare is a rare
what rough ep. just sat here and listened you complain about a game for an hour lol. not that it isnt warranted i guess, but im really enjoying the game and its kicking my ass lol. tbh rookie mode feels alot more balanced to me
They should absolutely not have permanent skull upgrades. Legendary skulls that started out from common are, more often than not, way more powerful than natural legendaries. It’s worth it putting in the time to make a legendary skull in a run and it’s so satisfying to pull off a transformation.
The cost isn’t even an issue. By the time you get past the 3rd stage you have enough bone fragments to get a legendary if you’ve been scrapping skulls when you can. The way they have it now is pretty balanced imo
What helped me out a lot through the early parts was prioritizing upgrading skulls above all else.
The thing about dark souls, hades and many other hard games is that theres a moderate amount of meta progression. Eg dark souls with its lvls, hades and its weapons, character progression and other things.
So they are hard but allow large progression
It's funny because Common vs Uncommon is huge, but Uncommon to Rare is even bigger. If wander bone focused he'd probably be sitting pretty despite wander not being hardcore man.
