NEW GAME STUDIO OPENS BY FORMER SIMS PRODUCERS- SIMS 4/ SIMULATION NEWS 2021

Is a competitor to the Sims 4 on its way? Former Senior Producer and Sim Guru Duke left, stirring up rumors–and now he, along with others who have worked on Sims 4, Sims 3, and Sims Mobile, are creating a new game. Will this be anything we see before the launch of Sims 5 or Paralives?

Previous Situation:
Within 24 hours, two gurus in the Sims 4 community announced they are leaving not just the Sims , but EA/Maxis…and that’s not to mention public gurus that have left in the rest of 2020 and 2019, as well as rumored (not confirmed) layoffs for Sims in 2018. Today’s let’s discuss what’s happening the Sims community, what it could mean for the future/ dlc/ updates and more for Sims 4 and even for a future Sims 5.

With speculation in the community about Sims 4 and Sims 5, many are already worried about how Sims 4 is broken or full of glitches. And while there are wishlists for packs such as farming, generations, werewolves, hints for a music pack, and demands for substantial updates, what Sims 4 needs may or may not come–tell me your thoughts and stay tuned for more Sims 4 news; dlc ranked, and more. I also cover Paralives.

  1. I would love more life simulation games, even if they aren't good. Even if they feel like cheap knock offs it will still give the sims some competition and reason to make the game better. Sims is the only game I absolutely love, even with its faults there is nothing like it….maybe that should change.

  2. The Sims 4 is at its core an amazing game with great potential, the issue with the game is EA. So seeing 2 veterans from The Sims 4 team launching their own company is a fantastic news. As you said though they might not work on a simulation game, but whatever they work on, I'm sure its gonna be great. Competitions never hurt, and yes I would love a Paradox simulation game. Paradox is 100% more transparent than EA and they listen to their players. They are passionate about games, not about money.

  3. I would love to see a new simulations game that’s more for it’s buck 🙂 now I was playing the sims 4 yesterday and they were doing the stuff I wanted them to do without having to tell them like the one doing his homework for college on his own!!! 🤣 I build them a new house and they treat me in return

  4. Dumb me didn't know Duke had left, so, surprise! You should definitely ask what type of games they intend to create and do they have one in mind (even if they can't reveal the particulars yet). Have they at least begun working towards something. And your channel may not be HUGE but it's important to a lot of us. Don't sell yourself short.

  5. This makes me SO happy! This means we are going to actually get a GOOD sim game…AGAIN. One of the founders of Blizzard did just this exact thing shortly after they were purchased by Activision. When asked about funding since he is currently with his wife and other prior Blizzard employees are working on two titles at one time, asked about funding, he said: "We will not be sourcing outside funding, because we want to maintain the integrity of our games, we do not want men in suits who play the stock market to tell us what our games should be doing, as a game developer this is the worst thing we could possibly do." If that statement doesn't speak VOLUMES as to what has happened to the Sims franchise and other games that sold their souls so to speak to large corporations like EA, I don't know what does.

  6. I hope that whatever they are working on is awesome and fun. I remember news about Will Wright doing a new studio as well so hopefully one of the vets of a beloved game can come out with something equally as awesome. I am ready for more games!!

  7. As much as I complain about the Sims sometimes, I would be heartbroken if they didn’t continue the franchise past Sims 4. I am aware of the Sims 5 speculation and I just hope this is some of the old Sims team working on a new and separate game that doesn’t take away from the Sims 5 so we end up with Sims 5 and something else alongside it to play. I just hope The Sims is not ending 🥺

  8. While it seems very uncertain what Duke would be doing, game wise, something similar to Sims or not, it is still interesting news.
In the general sense of having more simulation games in a similar light as the Sims, I always think that is a plus. Competition breeds better products, so I'm all for it.

What do you have to lose? You might as well shoot them some questions. And 26k isn't an unknown channel. You may not have a million followers or one hundred thousand, but you still reach a lot of people and you interact with your followers more than any other channel I've seen. And as a few others have stated in the comments, you are my "go to" place for Sims news. Keep up the good work as always. 🙂

  9. "I'm a teacher, and I tend to ask lots of questions." Same. Haha. I am the type of teacher who answers questions with questions. Critical thinking is one of the most important skills to have in life. I'm always interested to see what former Sim Gurus are doing now. Part of me wonders if we haven't gotten a new simulation game because of contracts. A lot of television networks make their producers and other employees sign contracts that say they can't create or sign on to do a competing show for a certain amount of months or years after leaving. I wonder if it is the same with EA/Maxis.

  10. You could ask him what genres of games he has in mind for future projects. Maybe also if there are any games that inspire these future projects.
That way you won’t put him on the spot and give him a chance to freely share his ideas.

  11. Competition would be great, it’d force EA to push boundaries and try to make the sims the best possible version of itself. It should start by making the base game feel complete and fully fleshed out instead of being a bland product that forces you to buy more products to make the game interesting

  12. Welll…. it’s confirmed the next generation sims game is in full blown production based off of speculation and lay off’s hoping that if the online aspects are true that the community is vocal about what we want in the next generation early on instead of later on so we don’t have another sims 4 accident

  13. Erin! Don't underestimate your reach! I've seen people talk about your channel on other Sims videos, and people genuinely love your energy. You have a growing channel, not an unknown one! 💜💜💜💜

  14. I love the idea of another simulation game… It doesn't have to be like huge like sims, I mean imagine if you did something like farmville, but it is all like sims, you build and design your farm and home etc, eat sleep farm farm farm. I know I am just thinking like small because when I think of simulation big, it is sims and I get that warm fuzzy feeling when I am in the game, and right now only 2 games give me the warm and fuzzies and they are total opposits. Anyway, if not that, maybe like a terraforming simulator, like with real sims, surviving and building the planet, the atmosphere and maybe even creating new life. I don't think anything can replace sims if it is not EA sims, I have been playing since sims 1 and everytime I open a game and start playing I fall in love all over again.

  15. If they joined forces (and resources) with Paralives team, we would get the game in maybe two or three years 😌 But that's just wishful thinking and Paralives will take at least 6 years at this rate. I think Never Forget Games is able to make their own life sim game much faster.
