If there is level scaling, I'm out. What is the point in levelling up if you don't get any stronger??
The Alpha was boring + the usual eradication of wildlife
I mean, time lost is a big consequence…
Unfortunately compromising between pvp and pve will just end up with all the pve players leaving. Personally I hate wandering around trying to do stuff just to get ganked by a passing player, had enough of the that in vanilla WoW, im good.
This is definitely one of my favorite channels!
This is 2-3 years from being playable for more then 1 month of ultra casual play.
Exceptional delivery You have inspired me to work on my channel, thanks. 🐼
Unpopular opinion: i'd like to see it go full tab target combat
Not having huge raid content actually sounds very appealing to me as a PVE player. Like… it's ok to have just smaller scale stuff. Make it intimate, challenging. More PEOPLE doesn't make it BETTER. It just makes it more irritating and elitist/gated.
Black desert already a pvp focusd mmo. So why need more pvp mmo. That is bullshit.
oh look another medieval fantasy mmo
New world is not for me
I was really looking forward to playing this in August. It would be one of my first like real PC MMO's. Before, all I've played was Wizard and Pirate 101 when I was a kid, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
I didn't want to play this game because I hate pvp, and I hate open world pvp even more because in most survival games, you get ganked by 30+ people and camped if you're not in a big enough guild/faction etc. More people don't pvp than do, so that's why they probably changed it because they new lots of people like me would avoid the game altogether. Sucks for people who're into that sort of thing, but I don't care, WoW's new expansion is coming out before New World, they should have left things alone and kept with their initial release, now everyone they're hoping to steal from wow or ff14 will be playing new content in those two games and not care to try New World. Same shizz happened to EQ2, they tried to challenge WoW and failed.
New World seems like it has great potential. Even as it stands right now it seems it will be a great game. I disagree with you about New World getting rid of the factions. Factions must be kept at all cost lest this game turns out to be another Albion Online. – New World ought to incorporate sacking/pillaging of settlements which would cause players living in that settlement to want to fight to deter its conquer. More PvE content does need to be made aswell because not everyone likes grinding in a MMO that only offers PvP. – A new Zone needs to be built for open world PvP where players, and guilds can battle it out, and earn prestige.
The game just looks like every other mmo. I will just wait for Pantheon
This is so true!
I think for a 40 bucks game it's worth the journey, but that's it. Having fun for 1 month max
They should make it at least like Lineage (c4 being the best chronicle).
Wonder if developers are watching all these reviews
PVP needs balancing PVP is fun why does there have to be consequences in every f**** game? Just because it doesn't meet your expectations in your mind, yes the game does need more content was originally meant to be a PVP based game. Where you could kill somebody loot there body and take everything, it was a very heavily PVP based game with very serious consequences. New World Change Direction and started adding PvE elements as well World of Warcraft PvP has nothing rewarding to kill other players get PvP gear does not really consequence. If you want more consequences can't play DayZ or survival game. new world do PVP missions get points buy some Gear
after watching this vid…. this game is going to flop.
I disagree, i didnt find the world immersive, i found after hours of running around the map the scenery got very familiar, basically forests, beach coastline, mountains thats your lot, i did go some where were it was snowing.
Mobs are so boring, i swear if they took the skeletons and the undead out the game there be hardly any think in the game to kill.
I like to see tigers, lions … etc chase after a pig or a chicken or a rabbit, little things, maybe a butterfly but no its as dull as dull can get.
Graphic's mixed reactions some of it looks very nice and other bits not so nice. Water needs some love looks awful.
I was stood high up on a mountain, i mean high with 3 other players, i messaged "shame about the fog i bet looks lovely on a clear day"
They typed back " lol, yer your right scenery needs work"
There's no long distance scenery, just a blanket of grey.
Map is tiny, the reason theres no mounts you would be able to travel from one end to the other in 10 minutes on a horse, i don't now where you got the massive map from, maybe you were testing a different map to me.
Talking about travel, i was able to easily travel from one end nearly to the other as a level 28 to fight level 45mobs in this corruption crap which is good fun the first 5 times then after the 155th time you start to lose the will to play anymore.
I think one of the game breaking issues for me was the auto run design were basically you don't have a SIMPLE jump key, were you can spam it and you jump up and down.
If the world was completely flat with no steps fences ..etc i get it; BUT the FRUSTRATION of getting graphically clipped on a 6 inch step drives you insane, it's not only steps it's all over the world where you just glitch out on scenery; There's a shell of a building with mobs sat inside you run towards them and the game auto runs you on top of the rafters of the building, and your like WTF ???
I'ts horrible, Amazon do us a favour and fix this game for the old skool gamers out there, who have been looking for a decent MMO after WoW died on it's ass in 2007.
It's not all bad, i did enjoy crafting.
I dont mind pvp in games, i just hate how many games these days basically demand it. I am glad they pulled away from total pvp in this game to some degree. The idea of forcing pvp in some situations, like guilds at war would be cool, so it is a potential, but not just a gank fest everywhere in the world at all times.
a lot of MMORPG games just dies off just because they become p2w :/
It's like Albion Online with better grafics. I like the old school mmo's combat system. I don't like a Dark Soul's one. I will not spend my money for the game like this.
I pre-ordered to play the Beta and really not enjoying it. I prefer PvE content. I tried having my PVP flag up but I just kept getting ganked by players 10 lvls higher. The PvE and story quests were incredibly generic. "Kill 10 wolves and get wolf pelts". Teleportation is expensive and missions require you to run back and forth around the map, very annoying. (If you have PVP flag up more chances to get ganked). Quests make you visit the same area like 5 times rather than giving you all the quests in that location at once. I'm really considering cancelling my pre-order but also think Amazon has the money to turn this around. I just don't know if this will end up being a game I will enjoy, because right now it certainly isn't.
many enmys are copy pasta all over the map they just have higher lvls same with the structure of point of interest like the mine saw 3 diffrent mines and they had 90% of the same structure just in other places same with houses and so on …. its going to be boring real fast when i already know when u see a "new" area and u know almost everthing about it even when u never was there befor. the gathering and the progress system are fine and feel greate but the combat has massiv issues of variety and creativity specialy on pvp
8:58 grow some bowls
this game is zerg group vs zerg group pvp and it has really bad weapon balance if you liek to solo at all in mmos do not play this game.
fax
The tab issue you point is stupid, they can just work around a lock to target feature, it is 2020 get away from tab targeting for fuck sake.
I never play a game with open PvP, but only Co-op PvE
Instanced, instanced, instanced, opt-in PvP, heavily changing their focus this late…
Suddenly I'm no longer looking forward to it.
The initial concept was great but now it just tries to appeal to too much. Disappointing.
Atleast there are a few other upcoming MMOs that could be worthwhile.
The assertion that the world needs to feel risky seems extremely odd considering none of the top mmos do this. Also, none of the top mmos have any sort of forced open world pvp. Wow has the opt in war system and instanced battlegrounds and eso and ffxiv only have the latter afaik. The things you suggest in your video are traits shared by none of the most successful games. Im sorry that you wanted a pvp game and won't be getting one, but pretending this was a bad business or design choice is just delusional. The only mistake was ever intending to create a pvp-only game in the first place.
