  1. I am definitely hyped for this it looks great to me. I love the new additions of the card system and bosses. Something that L4D definitely needed if you asked me was bosses besides the Tank. He felt like more of a common to me since you saw him in every stage. I think from watching it seems there are more weapons too which is a big plus. If they listen to the community and keep patching and working think they might have something special here. One of the commenters in the chat said a lot of people are looking at L4D with rose colored glasses. Which being a huge fan of L4D and L4D2 putting like 500 combined into both I agree with. It's still a great game, but doesn't have the modern elements you would expect in games now. I know graphics are not everything, but L4D2 doesn't look too great anymore. This has a quasi RPG card system which will be fun to play with. It is just L4D2 with added elements which is perfectly fine with me. One of the nice chat members was nice enough to give me a key so thankfully I will be able to find out for myself what it feels like. For now though I will say I think it looks great… Liked the vid guys and thanks!

  2. Video game marketing names are weird…

Anyway, looks nice, looks fun, gameplay seems varied and an upgraded version of L4D2…

But I cannot stress enough how I don't care until three months after it launches because the ghost of microtransactions and lootboxes hovers over everything now (and WB games have done scummy practices all too often in the past)

  3. Should have just made a L4D3 in my opinion, this doesnt have the same great character design L4D did and it makes it pretty hard to really tell what's going on. Another game ruined in the quest for realism.

  4. As a versus vet with 2700 hours, this game is a gigantic step backwards compare to l4d2 in EVERY aspect except visuals. This will tank faster than evolve especially since they're going the same route with thier fucking dlc horseshit.

  5. So it's a L4D2 copy-paste, crossed with CoD shooting. The guns sound and feel like pea shooters, you have the standard "sprint but can't shoot", "aim down the sights", and even the fucking X indicator pop up when you hit an enemy, and even the movement feels both cumbered and floaty at the same time somehow. Melee weapons look more 'realistic' with the whole "one hit, then bounce off" thing, but this also means they're less satisfying, so I guess game-design wise, they're just a last resort when you run out of ammo. Maybe it's more fun when you play it, but first impressions are not impressive.

Think I'll just grab some friends and go back to L4D2. It's showing age, but at least the shooting is fun and I won't be accosted from all sides by the inevitable WB games micropayments. And if I get bored I can always mod the guns to be hot pink with rainbows and ponies, and the Tank to look like Thomas.
