Was I wrong about the Outriders Devastator Path in my previous Outriders What Path to Choose video? As I took a closer look at Devastator path of Outriders and leveled my character past level 5, getting the third and most defining ability (so far), the whole gameplay of this class changed for me, prompting the creation of this video…
While I personally still prefer to maintain my distance from the enemies as the Technomancer or a Pyromancer class, Devastator definitely has potential and I’ve warmed up to the idea of rolling an alt in Outriders once I’m done with the campaign on my main character.
Do you enjoy Devastator gameplay in Outriders, or are you also leaning towards the classes that prefer to stay at range, like the Pyromancer and Technomancer? Let me know in the comments below the video!

After your last video on Devastor I made one in the demo and played it up a few levels. I found my opinion on the class pretty much was in sync with yours in that I didnt find anything wrong with the Devastator, but I wasn’t drawn to it or having as much fun with it as I was my Technomancer. I would certainly play one, because in a game with only four classes there isn’t a reason that I can see for not playing them all, but the Devastator (and the Trickster for that matter, which I also played up in the demo) would never be my first choice for class to play.
🚩 This video was recorded before the full game was released, so there will be a follow-up, sharing my updated (and more educated) impressions. 👍
🔥 REGARDING WoW references made in this video🔥:
At the time of recording, I still had a WoW sub and intention to persevere through the lull the game is in…
As I've shared my more recently recorded videos, I've ended up deciding to focus on Diablo 3 and Outriders for now, leaving WoW until patch 9.1.
Any questions or confusion regarding this topic – please watch my recent video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLGLk_STZCw) and/or comment below…
Finished the main story today but skipped most of the side quests. I went Pyro , didn't like trickster but I did enjoy Devastator. I've got a burning LMG build with 100% up time that I am loving. Sigle tapping each shot feels like I'm firing little head seeking missiles. Then if I get swarmed or want to nuke a boss down I can unleash my reserve moves and lol
Right now I am lvl 10 in the first area of the full game. So maybe I am wrong about some things ^^ (esp. late game)
My first choice was technomancer. But as it is kinda boring, as you can't "clear" an area very fast with it (early on), I chose trickster. I like the class because I can teleport and get tons and tons of mobility with it. But I don't have any skills that are actually usefull early on. The blade is kinda boring as I don't want to play a character with only melee abilities. And then I am left with the "bubble" (fantastic ability) and the bullets (also great). But no ranged ability (only one being the knife later on; Haven't played that far so pls correct me if I am wrong).
So I played devastator. And yeah, this is how I want to roll. You get tons of armor (golem), can teleport and do damage at the same time (jump ability), can block bullets (shield) and can also use the kind of ability the trickster misses. Earthquake. This ability can travel through objects and hit enemies behind cover making it op as heck (just like the "flame wall" of the pyro). Also if I am swarmed by mutants I can just cast earthquake or tremor or impale with some mods. Also bleed damage heals me which is amazing. So yeah pretty OP class.
Next classes will be pyro and trickster (again) after I finish with devastator, because I feel those will probably be op as hell when getting to late game.
dont understand how you can have an opinion on something that is level 3 lol
