I'm not sure how this is power creep? It's more cope for spending thousands of dollars thinking there wouldn't be a spear that's comparable to WGS.
Theorycrafters have already done the dps math for Xiao:
Lithic Spear R5 + 4 Liyue = 15,290
Primordial J. =14,560 (máx stacks)
Homa (-50%) = 14,505
Homa (+50%) = 13,390
For Xiao is still a bit better PJW but for Hutao thats going to be a lot different.

I'm going to summon on Hu Tao until i get a 5 star (i have enough for pity) and if i get her on the 50/50 then i'll switch to the weapon banner, since it will still be up. If i get super lucky and get both her and her weapon, then i'm going to have like 65%+ Crit Rate and 230%+ Crit Damage it's going to be NUTS if that happens.
well if the game has a very apparent powercreep later on then I will just drop the game…besides it has nothing to hold me 😒😒

On another note, I think it's more fun to collect characters and try and c6 all the 4 star characters. I'm not a fan of using the same team over and over so I just level a bunch of my favorites (qhich is like 80% of them haha) and switch my good artifacts around.

Wow, now I really don’t care which weapon I get. This confirmed that I will 100% use my pity on the weapon banner. I am guaranteed a weapon and for the first time both 5 stars can benefit me 🤷♀️
Although i don't have Zhongli, My Xiao looks pretty damn good with the Staff Of Homa
I love Homa because it gives you that double Crit DMG setup. With god tier artifacts we might see about 60% Crit Rate and 210% Crit DMG. It might take 2 years worth if farming but at least the ceiling is there.

This is dumb, stop making impression on powercreeps by random playthroughs. People have done calculations and a r1 homa with less than 50% hp isn't even as good as r1 jade spear on xiao.

Thank you for showing us this. Mihoyo is notorious for power creeping, look at Honkai Impact, in the future the SoH will probably lose to a R5 4*. Best to just invest in R1 and C0-C1 character instead, and have fun in the present.
I feel like it's less about the weapon overall and more about the crit damage sub. If you already have good stats then the cdmg will just amplify it more.
Over course staff of homa hits harder when it crits. You're gonna crit significantly less often than with pjws though so it balances out. The math has been done on this staff of homa is roughly on par with pjws. Vortex vanquisher was always sub optimal as atk% has diminishing returns.
This is just sad. I rolled on Jade banner for my xiao, yes I got the spear R1 but now I regret it so bad

I don’t think the staff of homelessness is power creep. Strange how there is going to be three 5-star polearm users that have high base hp. Staff of homelessness just fits really well with the current roster. On another note attack percent falls off in effectiveness fast since on most characters the time piece is going to have 46% already. Meaning vortex vanquisher is just over filling a a stat when other stats are harder to get and scale better.
Weapon banner is trap unless you are mega whale

I was planning on spending 250 for xiao but I got lucky and got him with my free primos, this banner is so tempting since I was already planning on spending the money anyway but I'm holding on to the last minute in case something more tempting comes to news

Just an FYI I think mihoyo is literally waiting till after the 27th to reveal the hu tao trailer. Chinese new years ends on the 27th and like we all heard mihoyo seem to have hold off on hu tao altogether due to respecting the new year and not depicting "death" like themes.
So my staff of Homa is better than my winged jade spear both R1, (got winged spear from free primo and dropped 100 on Staff of homa)?

Sure it’s power creep, but they’re obviously going to introduce more world levels, harder content and etc in the future and I highly doubt they’ll simply forget about older characters as there will be times where it’s that certain characters turn to make a reappearance. Currently power creep? Yes. Will it last like this? Most likely not. Genshin is Mihoyo’s biggest money maker right now after all.

Not only will most of the playerbasenp not bother with this banner, I'd argue most of us barely even use the refine feature
You do realize Homa is extremely frontloaded right? For a weapon that is limited to special banners? Comparing it to a spear that's in the standard banner since launch? At 22k HP, you literally get 176 more attack at R5. The <50% HP is the only reason why it beats Jade Spear. Not only must you get to <50% but you also have to stay there and stay alive. That is a huge asterisk and very situational/risky, even for a hyper whale such as myself. Not only that, you wont have access to Bennet support because he heals. Maybe in the future, if there's another Bennet level attack buffer w/o healing.
So for anyone watching this who has Jade Spear and are considering pulling strictly for your Xiao, don't be misinformed by this video. Both Jade Spear and Homa are at the top for Xiao. Obviously, HP units like Hu Tao and ZL benefit greatly from this. Both weapons require artifacts optimized for each. Both weapons have team comps they are more optimized with. They are REALLY that close for Xiao.
Vortex and Spine…havent really used them. There may be a unit in the future that may utilize these better (ie a self-shielding unit that shield scales off of Attack).
whale problem i suppose? only whales can compare those r1 vs r5. we low spenders more concern of clearing spiral abys 12 and having fun doing it because we dont have this weapons. also power creep in PVE just doesnt exist. as long as f2p player clear contents with regular weapons its all good man. 5 more big maps to go. too early for you to say this things.
I think the base crit damage on Homa is too high, but I disagree that this is insane. The expectation for the bonus from refinements seems ridiculous if anything. Other than for content (where it could actually be profitable), the marginal damage increase from R5 makes no sense whatsoever to buy. While again, Homa is very strong, the gap here seems to be less in how broken Homa is and more in the expectation that an R5 weapon should be substantially better than R1 because of the price. For most sane players, getting an R5 5 star weapon is not even a consideration.

2000-3000€ weapon – my first 2 cars costed 4k each – for all that it is worth Mtashed was right – this game DESTROYS lifes – somewhere – someone – all the time. I sometimes wonder if the game would be better if the Content creators would not whale the shit out of the game for "content" and give a large audience (including me) the "need" or better said the "goal" to get there aswell somehow with luck.
Zhōng li is my highest damage really right now. Over my tartaglia. This is wild.
It's not the weapon that is insane, zhongli is insane with this weapon. His shield makes him a beast. This weapon ain't great on squeashy character like xiao. This weapon has a variable damage depending on ur hp.
I tried my luck with 40 pull.. got the Primordial Jade..I'm sad.. but I'll take it..
correction what you meant to say was zhong li is fucking broken for being able to utilize so many different stats
