I begin to really not like the usage of this hole in the ground as a reference.
It looks to me like molten gold that just shaped like that, not something voidborne. Like, you know, Shurima was full of gold.
I think this details on Kai'Sa should be the colour of bone, but thath's just me 🤔IMO the gold doesn't make any sense (or it can, if she had some gold on her when she was just a girl snatched into the Void. But if I know right she's not royalty and not even from rich family, so… eh)
You should reduce the volume of this deep voice, when you talk same time i can only hear him
If riot doesn't want this as a base skin they could always make it a skin
While I love that she has that haircut with some straws of hair, I think those are not needed and add visual noice to what would be her model later. The scar and hair to one side would have been enough.
The audacity to call kaisa as a monster, riot games has gone too far
Kaisa is like the disney main character thinking shes ugly when she lookin like that
This was a fascinating redesign and the commentary throughout was incredibly insightful
I'm sorry, I can see how passionate you guys are and how much work and time you put into this redesign but I still like Riot's Kai'sa better. In your talking points you mentioned how it isn't bad to have sexy characters and that it can work, but then took her another direction anyways and I feel like she lost too much of her humanity or humanizing elements. There is certainly a lack of monster-leaning champions but I think this one should've been released primarily as a humanoid anyways and have another champion fill that gap in content variety. Varus is one of my favourite champions that walks the line between human and corruption and it feels like the blight enhances his features (which are revealing yet not absurdly sexual which I think could work for a female model like kai'sa too), rather than consuming what remains of their human form. When I think kai'sa I think of a badass woman who did whatever it took to adapt and thus conquer the void that invaded her home, and the redesign makes me feel like she lost this battle and is a slave of her environment, more like she fell prey to it and was weak instead of learning to hunt it as a predator who adopted their techniques. I also understand the reasoning behind bringing more of the gold elements into her colour scheme but I think the original was pretty spot on from an aesthetic standpoint. Plus, functionally I associate gold with wealth and royalty which seems too elegant for kai'sa, the more industrial and gritty greys/silvers in her body and parts of her wings suited her survival better in my opinion. I think she was 80% of the way to being at the caliber of character design riot has shown us, so my alternative changes would be: more textile texture to her torso/legs to break the gimpsuit silhouette(most predominately around her butt and boobs to reduce the flauntiness of her), instead of facial scars I would have her imperfections be in body asymmetry(cut wing, missing fingers, abnormal growths where the void spread like a cancer, etc) things that would make her feel rugged without making her so damaged in the face, and finally her hair would be artificial in the form of voidling legs or other creepy-crawly textures (I agree her hair is too well kept and perfect as is but I think void elements would be more aesthetically pleasing than a scrappy haircut and could be implemented into her helmet to explain where it comes from rather than appearing in thin air to cover her face on command). All that being said, I still think you did a beautiful job artistically bringing your ideal version of the daughter of the void to life, it just wasn't the way I envisioned her being. I hope I wasn't too harsh and conveyed my ideas productively, and as always i'll see you in the next redesign

Kai'sa design is so disappointing, Riot did a extremely good job on her kit, with that DOESN'T MATTER how would she look like, ppl would still playing her based on her abilities.
It's definitely a me thing but I would go for a more insectoid look for her armor considering other void creatures are more insect like and the armor originated from one of those creatures and definitely give it a more bio armor look, maybe even change those markings on her face to be glowing scars or even eyes on her face to go with her helmet more, It just kinda feels like that design is a bit too robotic for me
i like claire first design more, it looks like a skin the final form looks more like a sci-fi suit and her face in the first claire design looks like she has no hope
I think something that could be really cool with her design would be that she could have loads of void-corrupted scars on her face, with the explanation that every time she gets injured the void symbiote will heal it back… but at the price of it being filled in rather than fixed. I feel like that would add to her story and make the battle she fights against the void that much more impactful since the very act of fighting the void is corrupting her further with every injury she sustains. You could even go further and have an entire limb be replaced with void creature, with her remarking that it was a "mistake she made a long time ago, that she hasn't repeated since"
Representing other culture in league is a good thing but I think that it doesn't justify the artistic direction of modern league, if they really wanted to they should uses an higher variaty of body shapes. Also I think they can represent other culture with monster champions. Then I disagree when they say that the lack of identification on monster champions makes them less played, ASol and Azir are not played because of their Gameplay, Thresh and Hecarim are often top tier, Seraphine, Neeko and Taric are now in the less played character in the game. Many monster champions are old or have a uncommon gamplay. The problem with modern league for me is that new champions doesn't even inclued well in their own univers, Viego is just an hemo boy, half naked with 2 belts, Gwenn look like a mobile game character and Seraphine…
I Strongly disagree with their artistic decision for creating champions and I think the main motivation of that decision is greed, althought I think they probably believe their justification.
It's sad because Riot's artists are really good.

Since the first video I saw her I've believed she should've been a champion from a future where the void has taken Runeterra since the designers just wanted to make a missile champ in a body suit. Something very future tropish. Not a monster, just future technology. Then everyone would be happy.
I always imagine kai'sa would have been better if she was like sammus a armor of a worrior and dont know the gender of the predetor inside you didnt need to know the monster inside the monster is outside is too powerful to know the inside, it would have been better if she had sammus armor like inside shes really sexy but outside you would never know it was a women or a man
One of the reasons some war paint is asymmetrical is because it helps to break up the human minds recognition of human features. The human brain is very good at the distinguishing humans based on facial features which makes hiding much harder. The more face paint breaks up the ability for the mind to recognize a human face the easier stealth becomes.
Please redesign Viego next
A thing that i don't think anybody ever included in her desing is part of the human skin merged over parts of the void creature. Something like human skin over the connection between her shoulder and the cannon-like thing. In this kind of characters we usually see the foreing creature's skin extending and merging and never the human one.
That would make her way cooler and would really help making her look more "horrific" and monster-like, as she says she is.

This is a great design and like you said it fits her lore more than the current design, I do love the current design but as a Main Kai'sa I still had to admit that when you do evolve her abilities the changes are very hard to notice as well as the "war paint" when I first saw the character I was convinced that it wasn't paint but some void part attached to her face that could even glow a little more specially when she evolves making it a little bigger and maybe made her look more menacing, I do love her face design and wouldn't change it except for the part of erasing that lazy war paint and making it a part of her face and also the physical changes that you worked on are actually dope and amazing looking 💜

I wish kaisa had more of a "Venom" situation. Not sentience, per se, but the corruption and primal urges of the void, to consume. Power at a price. The more she fights, the more she evolves, the more she loses her humanity, physically, mentally, or both. She is risking becoming the things she fights in order to save others. She shouldnt have people skills. she was 10. shes done nothing but fight and survive. she can still be a beacon of hope, but as mystery. shows up, saves the day, but cant get close to people because of her mutations and inexperience with people. It would be awesome to have this feral appearance and demeanor, but her internal dialogue being her current voicelines etc. (like Krieg from borderlands 2. psycho on the outside, internal personality trying to save his humanity)

Just beautiful, and personally I find her even more attractive XD. Barbi faces aren't really my thing.
