"Treasure vault has more choice of items" (Blizz) – on screen the two choices are both neck pieces… LAWL
Why not at a new ilvl cap at 20 and 22 or something like that
Lame dude
Good changes.
I agree with your sentiment about the weekly chest. The problem is that dungeons/PvP are repeatable while mythic raid bosses are limited to once a lockout . In your system some limiting factor on mythic quality loot would need to be implemented, like visions giving diminishing ilevels the more their done in a week or a weekly capped currency earned in keys that can be saved up and exchanged for mythic loot.
The problem with M+ is that it makes heroic raiding pointless.
You get gear faster with M+ just spam and no lockout, this makes one playerbase(heroic raiders) forced to gear up through M+ because it’s faster.
Not every raiding guild do mythic runs, and heroic runs are also not worth it, so the raiding player base is compelled to do M+.
Dungeons as by it’s term should always be a precursor to raids and should not get same rewards as time, amount of players required, lockouts etc comes into play, this system was broken by M+.
The best solution imo is to bring teir sets ( obtained through raiding) and mythic raid equivalent ilevel items on high keys 20+.
So that both M+ and raiding is viable.
The prominence of mythic plus has devalued raid gear. Most of us will welcome this change as, raiding has become a less meaningful method of gear acquisition. Drive people into raids, get them playing together.
During Heroic week, loot ilvl is capped at Normal anyway. You can spam mythic+ to trade loot during the next week, but it's already Mythic week, so I don't think anyone actually does that
The box just feels lame. I dont have an issue with the idea, its the delivery. Maybe instead, each week you get an item you can use that gives you a guarranteed item of a higher ilvl in the next M+ dungeon you run. That way you can save it use after you pushed up your key some, but you still get hte loot after doing something awesome, instead of opening random chest cos reset.
i dont agree with you when you say weekly cache is a terrible idea.
i remember farming the same boss raid 15 times (15 freaking weeks) to get the staff i needed for my Warlock. Was it fun ? Meh.. i could have spend more time on other bosses on higher difficulty.
So is it a good mechanic ? Yes it is, if something is bad like really bad in competitve video game it's RNG. This new chest system erase a huge part of this problem and you still need to play the game to truly use it.
You only raid ? then you get only 1 to 3 choice, you raid and M+ ? Ok now you have 6 choices. Nothing is more frustrating to invest all your time and your hopes in getting something and not looting it.
Time to quit WoW for good. Man Blizzard has become a shitty company lately
I'm kind of hoping the loot levels are just low for launch.
NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ! i LIKE ALL YOUR VIDEO GROWL THAANK BRO !!!
Mythic plus gearing is annoying. I hate seeing people getting item levels above the raid level by doing easy mythic plus under the same idea: pack, AoE and continue. Raids now have so many mechanics and wipe possibilities for items that are lower level than let's say, +5 tol dagor which is easy asf (talking 8.2) . Raids require a lot of coordinated people and the item level dropped is about the same or lower than a 30min run of a +8 key? That stinks, under that view, very few want to raid as it's too much of a hassle when you can just do Atal Dazar for the 8th time with a high key and get better item level for something so easy.
What I do like are the special effects that make raiding always good for some specs like how some trinkets aren't the crap "X chance of gaining Y stat for Z time" but have interesting effects, like the ones from crucible of storm that were super strong but had downsides that could be worked around to get a huge boost. My idol of indiscriminate consumption for instance, that shit has saved me as tank (weird but yeah it heals a crap ton) so many times I wouldn't change it even for an item way higher ilvl that I get from a AD+5
I'm not big on the whole "RP" part of "RPG" though I do agree with your point about the weekly chest. What sense does it make from an RP perspective to get a high-level item a week after you did a challenging dungeon/killed a big bad monster/dominated in PvP?
What if mythic quality gear dropped from timed 20+ keys but each dungeon had a weekly loot lockout like horrific visions. Like the first 20+ key you time in a dungeon gives you mythic ilv loot but if you do another 20 key in the same dungeon that piece is reduced in ilv to heroic and lower. 20 keys are beyond the reach of most players so there won’t be hordes of noobs in bis gear and even bleeding edge raiders will have a hard time timing 20s during the early weeks of a new raid.
This is honestly one of the best WoW channels. 🙂
Well that sounds like y'all fault. It seems the player base may have been the ones that caused the change. I wonder how many players does wow have and when you look at it only a certain percentage has done mythic, yet alone mythic+? What's the point of creating the content if only certain percentage of the player base of the same players see the content.
The weekly cache is great for people like me that can only play wow about 2 hours a day, I do my 1 high key I know I get gear, and I like the vault system so now it rewards people who do a bunch of high keys. I do not think someone should be able to do 20 high keys in a day and get full geared so I agree with the weekly cache it’s more or less a lockout, just like raiding has a lockout
dude you should do a podcast too, maybe once a week you and your team do a 30min-1hr podcast and just discuss the week with dungeons(could even do it while streaming) and current blizzard stuff and community stuff, it would be similar to titanforge but really cool, i doubt you'd be stepping on their toes but idk still think its a great idea, could promote your new youtube content on there as well…/rantoff
Awesome
Finally a sane point of view.
this is the way it should have been
Mythic+ just became even harder to pug for Alliance. Less people running the dungeons beyond once per week.
m+ brought to the game the worst community, and rio
i hope it fucking dies
I love M+ as a concept. It is something I can do when I have time to play, and would offer me a way to feel like I've achieved something trying to climb the ladder. However, the fact that teams who raid vs teams who don't end up with a massive advantage ilvl wise pisses me off. It means that I may as well not try and do M+ seriously, just stop at whatever the chest cap is. And it turns M+ into a casual gearing thing. Fuck that! I would love m+ gear drops that have either set bonuses or affixes that only work in M+ and the outside world, so that if you only M+ this is the gear for you, and raiders who wanna M+…. have to M+ to compete.
Hey, Growl. I might have missed it, but is it one item baseline, i.e. if you time it you get a second one? Or is it one item, period. regardless of timing?
I agree 100% with your stance on the weekly cache, and specifically making it just as difficult as mythic raiding to acquire similar gear in M+. It also totally alienates people who want to play the game with an endgame solely consisting of mythic+ dungeons on their own time rather than poopsocking mythic raid progression if you have a busy adult life. This is probably the single biggest issue with Shadowlands for me, when everything else they've announced is telling me what I want to hear. Covenants needs some critical thinking as well but I think just maybe it won't be as big a deal as people are making it out to be.
Even if that's true, it sucks only getting gear on tuesdays.
Uh, the best gear should come from raids. Of course, an exception can be made here and there, but generally speaking raids should give better gear, that has been common sense for decades.
World quests (regular quests) – dungeons – raids. This logic of gearing was always in world of Warcraft.
When you will understand, that world of Warcraft is not a game divided into several separate games: separate pvp, separate raids, separate mythic plus, separate lvling system. It is a complex game with different aspects. And person who does all content, should be rewarded.
Oh oh. I have an idea inspired by dumb pvp players. LETS MAKE MYTHIC PLUS DUNGEON STATS. so I want to play only mythic plus and be better than others only because of gear. And other people will have to get the third dungeon set.
Mythic + was ruined by the scores of loud mouth galaxy expert level super players who infest the pug scenes. When mythic + devolves down to “+6 CHECKING IO, KNOW FIGHTS, NO BADS” then they are pointing the finger at the wrong enemy. They ought to start by acknowledging that it was indeed themselves who didn’t DPS the totem in AD down fast enough and caused the wipe, and accept that wipes happen- not every run can be a carry.
having several toons over 2k io and pushing 19s and 20s i can tell you from my side i get more joy out of io then gear mythic plus is stand alone content that does not need gear reward to be enjoyable you will eventually get gear out of chest and yes its annoying waiting for a piece of gear on Tuesday but after 2 weeks of spamming dungeons for io you quickly find yourself not even needing the gear anymore so the fact that the gear is lower then raid will not effect people that push keys because if it was just gear you would spam 15s and no higher but people push 20s and even 30s in bfa for fun and the pride it comes with knowing every time the key gets higher it changes the game play
Bad enough high end raiders are fucking snobs to almost everyone now its gonna get worse lol. Oh you have m+ gear on? No inv for you scrub join a mythic guild.
These changes are great! I hate spamming a 15 dungeon for a trinket when I would rather push 23's.
forced to raid to get competent gear???
Dratnos has no clue about the realities of the average M+ player. We aren't running set comps. We are pugging. and your ability to pug is a function of your ilvl and raider/io. Itys always been a disadvantage pugging without also raiding, but this drop in M+ loot puts M+ only players a lot further behind raiders and the key impact will be finding it much harder to get into groups. This doesn;t apply to healers/tanks, or players with set groups. But if you pugged as a dps and did mainly M+, you are now screwed.
I would rebalance dungeons such that there was more unavoidable damage and include extra stamina in the dungeon loot budget. If players went into medium to high keys with no dungeon stamina gear on, they would risk being 1 shot or at least putting their healer in panic mode. Then I would balance raids so most of the damage was avoidable (for non tanks) or at least was low enough not to one shot fully raid geared players. That would allow more stat budget for non-stamina which would push offensive stats higher. This would create situations where players could choose whether or not to wear dungeon or raid gear based on their group composition and the content they were running. You could also give dungeon loot more mobility perks for faster speed running that would work in such a way to be of limited use in raids. In other words, you change the content so there are different optimal gear decisions based on how you want to play.
The Death Of Transmog!?!?! Old dungeons now ginving like 1 item per boss…..This is so stupid in terms or Transmog runs
"Data mined", sorry but for me it means speculation, made videos were made about pre-patch talking about changes that didnt appeared or appeared diferently, this might me changed, but yeah, if this is correct, it wont be good
These changes are a legit joke, M+ was probably the greatest thing to happen to wow and now they are nerfing it in to the ground. After like 2/3 weeks of raiding what is the point of doing M+? i hope to god this is just a change for early expansion.
