SIMS 5 HINTS: ALL WE KNOW – SPECULATION./ NEWS 2020

A new job posting is yet another hint that Sims 5 is in development, and while I think it’ll be a while before Sims 5 is launched, today I’ll share all hints and potential leaks, from reputable to less so, that we’ve seen in 2020, 2019 and 2018 for Sims 5. I’ll also address rumors that Sims 5 could be online or multiplayer, give you my speculation, and my honest opinion of what needs to be done before Sims 5 is released.

Of course, rumors of Sims 5 come at a pivotal time for Sims 4, with may saying their games are still broken and full of glitches; some relieved but still frustrated with the skin tone update; rumors about a possible music expansion pack for a new dlc in 2021; and the end of what has been a crazy 2020 year for news, wishlists, and more for Sims 4- (and none of these can be solved by even the best cc or mods).

Please note the trailers shown are fan made; there is no official trailer for Sims 5 or an official announcement for Mac, PC, XBoX or PS5.

  1. All info from Maxis/ EA and Sims Community unless otherwise stated. Sims 5 has not been officially announced or confirmed. Links to fan made Sims 5 trailers in description. All speculation my own. How far away do you think 5 is? When would you like it to come?

  2. At first I wasnt happy that they plannning on working on TS4 for more years since the players are ''hungry for more content'', but now I think it is a good decision.

There is a lot of content that could and should be added to TS4, so why leave the game unfinished and release -and RUSH a new game? We've seen it happening before, and I dont want a new game released with no POOLS or toddlers. Sims 4 felt like a beta version until like 2017(I play since 2014) and I dont want that to happen again.

Game updates should not add basic things like skintones, cars, toddlers and pools in a 2020 life simulator game.

  3. Community and competition possibly could be integrated well into the Sims 5. There is already a lot of people that take the game to the extremes with timed challenges etc. One of the issues with the Sims 4 is that everything is too easy and you just run out of stuff to do. Adding optional(!) challenges that players can try out and choose to participate in might be fun. I feel like Sparkd is already going into this direction with some people really enjoying the creative challenge and everyone else can just ignore them. There could also be things like weekly top rankings for stuff like fish caught or whatever. Not really how I like to play but there might be people that enjoy it. Another way to add to the community would be to bring all the CC creators better access to the game not sure if this will be possible though.

I am also wondering if EA is thinking about becoming its own competition. The Sims 3 and 4 are so different with one being more of a sandbox and the other a dollhouse that Sims 5 might not be a direct competition to 4. There are people that really prefer that type of gameplay so you potentially could continue selling packs to loyal Sims 4 players and at the same time release a Sims 5 with world creation but pretty limited features at the beginning. I just can't decide if specializing for your audience like this will be genius or stupid. The community is quite big and active and it will probably become more difficult to satisfy everyone with one game. There probably would be people that played both, they could squeeze some more money from players hesitant to leave behind a game they spent a lot of money on for a new unproven version or that honestly prefer the dollhouse playstyle and at the same time satisfy the players screaming for a more sandbox game that might require higher specs.

  4. The "This is a game that really doesn't have any competition in it's category" comment actually made me kind of livid. Yes, we know you don't have any competition. That's the problem! Something about that comment just made me really mad.

  5. When I think sims multiplayer, I picture being able to take sims to your friends builds or do things with your friends sims. Or even just multi-household playing capability that isn’t laggy and broken.

  6. As long as its better then the sims 4, I will give Sims 5 the benefit of the doubt. But I have severe trust issues from The sims team and EA in general but I also want to see future iterations of the sims franchise and don't want the sims 4 to be the last sim game. I am for sure going to do extensive research before I even think about purchasing sims 5 in the far future. I am however pretty worried if simgurugrant is leading the sims 5's direction, he's one of the ones I dislike the most. I don't care for his attitude at times but more then anything, when he's cut out features or said no to things we've all wanted. It seems like he's very focused on what he wants and doesn't care about others opinions. I mean he said flat out when cats and dogs came out why there wasn't doghouses in the pack "oh we don't need that anymore, a lot of people keep their pets indoors" when there isn't newspapers or landlines "no one uses those anymore" and I still cant forgive the fact that Lyndsey said "I'm advocating for more family gameplay and better babies and grant says no" we could of maybe had more family gameplay by now?!
On a positive note I hope your feeling ok Erin♥ we appreciate you and your hard work so much

  7. I may change my mind later on, but to be honest I don’t feel like I’ll buy Sims 5. I’ve spent way too much money on Sims 4 packs it’s not even funny😄 so I’m not going to splash out more money for Sims 5, even if they improve tbh I’m just no longer interested in playing life simulation games anymore. But I still enjoy your content ☺️💞

  8. Sims 4 could be the best game if all game mechanics from Sims 2 and 3 were combined with the graphics in Sims 4. We don't need the Sims 5. EA needs to fix the Sims 4 by having a huge Personality Overhaul and more unpredictability to the game. The concept of open world may not be implemented in Sims 4, but at least they should made the game more playable.

  9. The only thing I like about online is that my simmer friends and I can drop our sims in each other's worlds and their lots, families, etc. Multiplayer doesn't sound too bad but every time they update and try to improve there's always another issue so I have no faith for EA/Maxis/Sims I'm over it. They might have to drop sims 5 for free as they did with Madden another failed game.

  10. while i like your positivity but remember it's the same team which have to change in last time the sims 4 from online to single player making the game being bug and mess for some months, then also the same team which leave the sims 3 with a lot of bugs which was necessary to have mods to fix it, well it's the EA which we are talking about remember entam… mass effect and many others "EA" attempts to destroy franchises, we are talking about one of the worst and greedy companies in the game community.

  11. Pleeaasseee let the Sims 5 have online for console so we can interact and enjoy the game with friends I've been waiting for years for this but also want the best gameplay so no rush but this has to happen

  12. I’m throughly enjoying Mermaids in the Sims 4 which is my favorite occult. Sadly, Mermaids are made so poorly that I have to download so many mods for them just to make them more fleshed out.

  13. Sadly. Sims 4 is gonna be left completely broken and the reputation of the franchise it’s starting to get stained thanks to it. A lot of people just plates for the bugs and crazy things that happen in it THANKS TO THE MODS and how bugged the game is. Not because the expansions actually expanded the game and made people start playing it religiously…
You know, we know… I know that the ONLY thing that helps the sims 4 is that’s like a building simulator and the CAS it’s detailed and too much fun to customize WITH CC

  14. In my Regina George voice-

“ Andrew, stop trying to make online and multiplayer happen! It’s not going to happen!”

To answer the question of the day-
I’m playing TS3 and loving it! Not just because of cars and open worlds but because I don’t have to micro manage my sims. I have full autonomy and free will on and having my sim just do her own thing and not just sit on the computer all day was so lovely. Being able to switch between her and her mom without the loading screens made me so happy.

  15. MAJOR ISSUE need to get this out. I play on Xbox one I loaded up my Sims 4 game, entered one of my saves and it says “game date incomplete” go into the household and most of my packs I owned are gone. I go into the “my packs tab” and some are missing. I went to the Microsoft store to double check and it’s fine. So it’s an issue with the game. I dumped money into this game and now some of my packs are missing. I lost Seasons, Cats and Dogs, Parenthood Dine out, Outdoor Retreat, Moshino, Tiny Living, Kids room and toddler stuff. What the heck 😩😡😤

  16. The way I always imagined Sims being multiplayer was kinda like Miuchiz if anyone remembers that? Like you can exist on your own and do your own thing, but if you enter the "town center" kind of area that's where you can meet up with others and play competitive/collaborative games/walk around/socialize etc. I just wonder how that would work with things like DLC, would Sims appear naked if they had packs you didn't or would you still be able to SEE their clothes but not wear them yourself? Can you invite people over? Honestly I'm really curious about an online aspect, it could be really fun 🤔 (I know I'm in the minority there)

  17. I don't think we're getting TS5 yet because they still want to push more content into the current sims game, but what's strange is that we have listings of TS5 popping up online already. I get the feeling we're getting a pin off or updated version of TS4. It's the only thing I can think of. It's only a matter of time before TS4 gives in and becomes completely unplayable.

  18. I like to stay positive whenever possible, so I'll remain hopeful about the Sims 5 until it comes out. It does sound a bit worrying though that there's this online question. As I understand it, a lot of the problems with the Sims 4 were caused by the team starting to build it as an entirely online game, so it had to be simplified in terms of gameplay, and then when they realised that wasn't what their players wanted, it was too late to change that. So I really hope they've learnt from that and won't repeat the same mistake.

  19. I think it’s important to continue to grow – in personal life, and in professional life. I think it’s important for the Sims to continue to grow. I want to be optimistic as well. I hope that the Sims franchise continues to grow in amazing ways. ☺️

  20. I think there going to turn it to VR open world you play as yourself on an online server or perhaps make it more like you have your own private space to build and crate your own neighbourhoods but then they will add the online open world to everyone that you have to play as a single character if you meet people the same as the npcs in gameplay but you won’t be able to control them if you get married ect (because they will be another player) but if there are pets or children they will be added to both “parents/owners” screen so there able to interact with them I don’t know maybe they will just make it a third /first person game like animal crossing where you can only control yourself and interact with other people I know the sims has to make money but perhaps they are looking. To branch out the Sims 4 has a lot of packs and content a lot of players have spent a lot of money getting all the packs maybe they will do away with that completely and have the online version with sims 5 VR one player no control over others 😂😂 idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ just a theory

  21. I have no problem with them adding online stuff, even multi-player. So long as it can be turned off, I know lots of people would enjoy that but I want to play by myself and not have to fight with online servers.

  22. Right now my favorite thing about the Sims is the skin tone update and the update that mermaids no longer create hybrid glitches with other occults! I suspect a Sims 5 is in the works, and I'm curious to know what the art style will be! Each Sims game has its own art style. I hope it's not too realistic, though I know other people like that

  23. EA should hire sim modders, not only because of how talented they can be but also because of the love they have for the franchise.
I just hope they don't rush with the release of TS5, we already know that the patches do not solve the shortcomings of the base game, which must be robust but flexible to really expand it with the following packs. So I prefer that they launch the game with a small world like the SIMS 1 but as customizable and explorable as TS3.
Multiplayer Online does not have to be bad, it could be a world apart which will be modified over time and even with limited missions to get objects that we can use in our worlds. Instead of launching a Star Wars or Katy Perry Pack, they update the online world with items to buy or earn through certain requirements for X weeks.

  25. I'm looking forward to hearing more about what Sims 5 will feature. Iam concerned about the online aspect though. When TS3 featured an online experience to exchange sims to another player's world to perform on stage, my game started to lag real bad. I could something similar happen in TS5 if we have a community exchange between players. It's a nice idea but everyone may not have the fastest game systems and/or a reliable network to play on.
