WEENIE HUT GENERAL?
I know this type of comments is annoying, but sorry, I have to say this: It's Salty Sponge, not The Salty Sponge. They changed the title.
I think Emplemon said it best, a long time ago. Spongebob used to connect with younger audiences, who can then later connect to an older demographic. The humor had a great balance of having this overly positive character getting himself in mature situations. (Squidward, work issues, impressing a friend, etc.) Once they've dial that overly positive character by one thousand, it breaks that bridge, and most plots comes off as childishly annoying. So after awhile, it seems like the writers doesn't really know how to bring that aspect back, since later seasons took the sponge far beyond the point of return. Good thing they're trying through, and this episode seems like they're trying to make a modern day concept of this work.
The parody theme song was actually my favorite part of the episode lol, but I understand your opinion on it.
It's a bit dissapointing that they're reuseing old spongebob jokes; I mean, yes, its okay to resuse old jokes as a cool call back to old episodes. But dont completely reanimate it point too point, change up the joke quite a bit, christ, even refrence an old quote from one the of the many old episodes.
4:13 and that is why it's important to remember that everybody lives in it's own personal and social bubble, nobody on the mainstream media talks about new shows.
Seeing a SpongeBob episode from the latest seasons genuinely try to change its ways feels a little like seeing a alcoholic childhood friend trying to better themselves.
You really hope they keep it up, wishing for the best and make it back to what they once were, but you also know how it probably won’t last which is incredible saddening since it still means a lot to you and it was painful to see this decline over the years, which is why one doesn’t want to keep their hopes to high fearing to be disappointed again.
(Hope someone somehow understands what feeling I mean)
Well, even though I don’t really care about the new seasons, at least the crew are having so much fun at making these.
5:30 the background music tracks should be less bass heavy. speaking for viewers that consume youtube with decent audio equipment, the sub frequencies in the background music are really distracting, sounds more like buzzing or humming, as the higher frequencies of the music track cannot really be heard due to the focus of the voice track.
i'm just glad spongebob isn't making entire episodes about tik-tok like the simpsons
Mrs Tuff, my beloved big fat meanie
1:09 🤨📸
The tough spongebob face will be a meme in less than a month
Love the Big Fat Meanie Reference: 3:05
I would be more impressed if they were able to make great episodes without Hillenburg.
Well this one seems to prove it.
7:20 dumpy
i personally think spongebob should retire i was a fan as a kid but now watching the newer episodes leave me questioning the show imo
Welcome to The Salty Spittoon. How tough are ya?
This is episode I feel wasn't made to be "oh there's a reference, that automatically make this episode peak spongebob" this episode expands on that idea so it's mostly a new idea than a old idea in my opinion! Oh yeah I subbed!
Something that I thought about that wouldn't be very good but it crossed my mind, shet if there was an episode where SpongeBob went back in time to help wanted? Once again probobly would be a horrible episode but Y'know.
This episode is in my opinion b ranked among a season full of c to d ranked episodes from a show that used to average b ranked episodes
D and below being unwatchable for people capable of critical thinking
C being for kids but bearable to watch
B rank being overall good
A rank being enjoyable and rewatchable
S rank being the best of A rank
SS rank being the first SpongeBob movie(ive watched it more times than I can count and yet it still makes me laugh)
Wow I haven't seen modern SpongeBob in a while and the animators need a melatonin or sumn
One thing that made this episode for me was we were finally tough enough to see inside the salty spittoon
Spongebob before 2004 was amazing but Spongebob after 2015 is unwatchable
the parts of your videos now where you caption it, the animation is 2 much that it pulls my attention to that and make it harder to listen.
How long has it been since somebody called a recent spongebob episode funn
SpongeBob’s animation in recent years stinks. The overly exaggerated animation especially the facial expressions are so unnecessary. They need to rewatch the first few seasons and revert back to being funny not cheesy slapstick.
I feel like if the writers only had to focus on da main spongebob show, (and stop with so many squid in pain jokes) then spongebob could have better episodes…
This episode was good… not golden age but good… it proofs that spongebob can still have good episodes
The secret formula is sadly gone. RIP Stephen Hillenburg.
i like how he carefully stepped over the ice at the beginning, nice callback to that original salty spitoon episode
This is with a season 4 episode.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SPONGEBOB EPISODES EVER!! I laughed at almost every episode!!
