Tarkov's Most Underrated CQC Gun? VSS & AS VAL Gameplay – Escape From Tarkov

Once considered the king of meta guns the AS VAL & VSS have fallen from grace but with the buffs to it’s ammo is it really worth running?

  1. Im not a huge fan of the vss/val but it's undeniably strong. The changes at the end of last wipe/ beginning of this wipe to the recoil, ammo, etc and addition of other weapons made it worse but it still rips people apart. The one issue I have is the price of the 30 round mags. I might as well run an HK since the price of the extra mags for the VSS I bring make up the cost diff.

  2. I just think it’s spotlight was stolen by the vector this wipe. But real ones know what slaps still. I salute an enemy when I find a Val on them.

  3. They're definitely not underrated. They're just difficult to use sometimes, the recoil and the slow muzzle velocity makes them hard to use when there's any range. By using them, you're limiting yourself to a short distance.

I still love using them both and I have almost lvl3 mastery with them.

  4. Honestly, is the RK-2 even worth it in the VSS? it only reduces like 4 or 5 recoil and fucks the ergo, somethin like the Shift gives you a good bonus in ergo and reduces 2 recoil, is the -15 ergo really worth 3 recoil when comparing then against each other? In something like an 7.62 AK I can see the argument, but in the VSS the trade-off doesn't seem so great

Edit: before someone feel attacked, I'm not trying to dictate how you should build your weapons, if you feel better using the RK-2 go for it, it's just that the difference in ergo don't seem to compensate the difference in recoil between the options imo
