The Future Of Xbox RPGs Is INSANE – Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI, Avowed, Fable, & MORE!

With ink drying on the deal between Xbox and Bethesda, we turn to the future. A future full of RPGs from extremely talented studios. There is Bethesda who is currently working on Starfield and, afterwards, Elder Scrolls VI. Obsidian Entertainment, known for a variety of RPGs ranging from South Park, to New Vegas, even Alpha Protocol, and most recently is The Outer Worlds. Their next project looks to be their own version of Skyrim and it runs by the name Avowed. Don’t count out inXile! Home to the father of Fallout, they are responsible for the Wasteland series and are currently heading up a AAA RPG on Unreal Engine 5. Last, but not least, Playground Games joins the RPG fray with a reboot of Fable. What is most fascinating is all of these companies fall under Xbox. As a lifetime RPG fan, I am stoked on what the future is for all these companies and games!

  1. I do have to agree that the game industry has sort of been doing this trend of completely ending projects just to make one game instead.

For small/indie developers I can totally understand, but for bigger companies, it's kinda frustrating when they announce or release a game that has more of my attention only for it to get axed completely from existence. Like why not just put it on the back burner and focus on the game later?

  2. Games that run on hardware skyrim ran on tend to move very little out of its shadow….all these games I expect to utilise the full memory speed and cpu power of series x to reach new standards…I'll be disappointed if any of these games accommodate xbox one or switch, there is just no need in 2021

  3. Honestly? I'd rather just racing games. Lmao At 31, I recognize all the talent in these devs and understand the significance but I am far more likely to play Pac-man than talk to a buncha Chuck E Cheese robots. And I am quite an Xbox fanboy lately. So none of these do much at all for me. Now when Doom 3 (after Eternal drops) oooooo weeeeeee.

  4. Between Starfield, ES6, Fallout 5, Avowed, InXiles joint, Outerworlds 2, Fable, and more Microsoft has so many top-tier AAA RPGs coming in the years to come that they really don't need to shelve one in order to pump another out. The days of Elder Scrolls and Fallout being the only big boys around are done. There's a lot to look forward to in this field, and soon we're gonna get new adventures left and right.

  5. Holy shit I've always really liked Ryan McCaffrey, I felt like he was one of the few good ones at ign, but I hadn't seen that tweet from him. He really fucking said that?? Wtf man, it genuinely hurts to see him have such a shit opinion like that.

  6. This set up is looking good my friend. The lighting and picture quality is top notch. As of course is the video content just wanted to comment that the video looked great as well!

  7. Don't force inXile to make a Fallout game, they already have Wasteland, too similar games. For inXile there is a huge opportunity for them to make a Shadowrun game. Microsoft owns the IP and the studio, I think inXile is perfect for this game.

  8. That IGN tweet also completely ignores the entire purpose of Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda. IT'S ALL ABOUT GAME PASS. Selling Xbox's will be a bonus, sure, but they want to set the standard for subscriptions and streaming before someone like Epic or Valve steps up to the plate.
