  1. I remember watching Gametrailers reviews all the time back in the day. So happy you guys still do the reviews under this new name. Easy Allies are still the best reviewers in the business.

  2. Tried it for an hour or so. It's hard to deal with the fixed camera after so long, stiff animations don't help either. Story failed to interest me so far and all i did in terms of gameplay was finding an object that lets me open a door in order to get to the next locked door.

  3. Tho not for me, I am glad they were able to put this out and hope it finds it's audience as it is a smaller studio. Thanks @Easy Allies for always doing in depth reviews, and calling it as you saw it. Integrity is so very hard to find these days.

  4. i believe i am quite advanced in the story already and couldnt agree more with the review, puzzles arent challenging and repeat the same pattern way too much already in first hour or so, audio is great and so are graphics thought my Ryzen 7 3700x and 1060 3gb takes a hard hit during the reality/phantom worlds sections.
Still, Great writing as always you guys are the best <3

  5. Whoever doesn't know of the awful practices and less than stellar resume of Bloober Team, go watch Bloober Team Bites by Bobvids here on youtube. As far as I'm concerned, fuck 'em.

  6. I don’t blame the developer for this mess. I blame Microsoft, time and again they’ve been shown to not know how to properly support and guide the developers making games for them.

  7. Bloober Team seems like they're just on the cusp of making a truly great game but can't quite get over the hump. They make games with really fascinating concepts and great atmosphere, but the gameplay in them just isn't compelling enough. The Medium is a pretty spot on example of that. Still think that despite their games not being anything amazing yet, they're a dev to watch in the future. They're clearly talented but just need to work out the kinks.

  8. wonder what his opinion would be if this was a sony published game. a 6.5 is so laughably harsh i can't help but think they took points off just because it's a Xbox exclusive.

  9. I still think I'll pick this up just to support someone trying something different. This feels like an "arthouse" style game. Funky, better in concept than execution, but thought provoking and challenges the medium's tropes.

  10. I never saw the appeal of this game, I feel like people just got hyped for this game cause of the splitscreen thing and that's it, the trailers never impressed me đź‘»

  11. The medium is just okay. Some parts are cool but overall the game is kinda boring and the story is weak. Had a couple times my game glitched out and I had to reload old saves. Seems like they tried to make a silent hill game and just did it way worse to be honest. I think their next game will be better this wasn’t it though.

  12. Important feedback! (spoilers):

I heard the ending basically sends the message that mentally disabled people can't be happy. The main character takes abuse and victim blaming as valid criticism, and then kills themself, with the achievement "you can't save them all" immediately following. If this is true, I agree it deeply mishandles a sensitive issue effecting millions, and furthers negative stereotypes.

I'm not sure if this is the case as it's just heresay, but I wanted to relay some feedback I've seen to give more perspective on an important theme. L&R

  13. I had high hopes for this game. And I really trust Huber's opinion. Especially on horror. And seeing how this was a bit of a throwback I thought it would be a hit. Aw well, Ghostwire is bound to be GOOD.

  14. I honestly hate how much the protagonist speaks in the game, any time there could be a moment of quiet reflection or an interesting image to think or a puzzle that might be cool about the character just explains exactly what it means or makes some dumb joke that absolutely kills the mood. the closest comparison I could use would be Control but Control actually has good writing so it works in that and there's a narrative and thematic reason why she is talking to herself all the time (granted I didn't finish the Medium so hey)

It never uses the fixed camera to it's advantage either, every shot is just this boring wide shot. I got an easy out when the game just broke and didn't let me progress because I'd already got the name of a guy I needed to send away and also his mask but it wouldn't let me use it, so I uninstalled it and I'm never going back to it. The concept was so cool but the game is just so bad

  15. I just beat it. Really liked the sound design, the design of the world, and most of the music. A few of the puzzles were fun. But the story didn't do it for me or the split-screen gimmick. The game is pretty empty, easy, and mostly boring. Solid 6/10 for me.
