Cyberpunk 2077 wanted system and police are completely broken at this stage of the game, so I wanted to go deeper into it to see what could change, what opportunities were missed and we are also going to talk about the usual problems wanted levels have.

  1. I always pictured the combat zone as alot more crazy then it is in the game. Like its supposed to be a place that rarely anyone makes it out of and the only form of transportation in is combat cab. There is also a tv show about combat cab going into the combat zone that plays in Night City. There is none of that vibe in Pacifica currently.

  2. I don't see CDPR fixing the wanted system anytime soon. Hell, I don't think they'll fiddle with that at all unless one of the expansions are focused on being Lawmen (one of the classes in Cyberpunk TTRPG). reason being, there's a LOT that needs working on in this game and fixing everything would mean pretty much an overhaul the likes of Final Fantasy XIV underwent. So there will be things that'll go unaddressed for a looong time in this game, if ever. And the wanted system is one of them IMO.

  3. The police system is disappointing. I rarely do anything to get them on my ass. I also find the security at the Arasaka industrial complex to be underwhelming. It takes a total of 19 bodies to spell Jackie, and by my estimation, another 19 to spell Welles. I say by my estimation because I ran out of bodies and Arasaka isn't sending any reinforcements. I ended up just scrapping the last name and tossing the excess bodies in bins for stealth xp. Sorry choom. Arasaka wouldn't provide enough bodies to properly memorialize you, but I did what I could.

  4. The wanted system should be at least like in gta, but there is non in cyberpunk. This is just sad and disappointing 🙁 I finished the game after 50 h and I completely lost interest.

  5. Ncpd and jus NPC’s in general. There is no ai system at all. Everything NPC related is lifeless. They don’t have lives they r living , nothing . It’s jus a cosmetic paint job. Overall meaningless. Fact is there is no ai . Ai only exist within the confines of the story content and ur limited character interactions there in.

Even Witcher games the NPC’s had lives they were living. Lol

But then again this is probably part of what you get when all of your attention and focus is directed into a short story with pre-defined certain characters. Is the difference between an RPG and A action adventure game

  6. Wanted system kinda reminded me of Saints row 4 only the spawn distance is much shorter and SR4 AI will run back to police car to continue chasing untill max level boss spawn or you clear those wanted stars which look identical in both games.
Even SR police system is anouying 2077 took the worst part of it , V is never meant to be an outlaw but a merc even then it would be expected a holsterd surrender or an email collateral damage eddies fine on V's apartment computer rather than police AI controledby gaunter odimm just because a civillian ran in to the side of you car while traveling at speed 02 lol .

  7. I view it as a game design decision (if they had more time i still believe they would not have done it that way)
CDPR statted multiple times that they did not want to do a cyberpunked gta, and they wanted an rpg with strong focus on the narrative. And on the story perpective it does not make sense for V to just randomly starting attacking npc or fighting back the police. SO just like in the witcher they made a system that dissuade the player of doing it.
And it has always bugged me in gta that in broad daylight, i can killed many pedestrians, blow up cars, shot the force but i can get away with it. On a narrative perspective it sucks hard. The otherway of doing it would be more like in assassin's creed III. But it's kind the same stupid that you just tear a poster or pay a guy and suddently everyone forget who you are. If they had emplemented such a feature some people may have called it immersion breaking (the solution in the game is also immersion breaking but at least you stop messing around and it does not punish the player who accidently run over a pedestrian or kill someone by accident).
Plus it's an rpg with leveling up, so they probably wanted to prevent the player from grinding by juste killing the police. It's also a way to balance player's progression.

  8. I did not really care about the wanted system at all. I just did not need it. I mean yeah it is unrealstic, but i think cyberpunk is defenetifly more a game about story, characters, the lore and gameplay. I am happy that they put ressources elsewhere and not went the gta route. And for me this wanted system is enough i think. It prevents one from killing civilians, but does not do it in an unpleasent way like in AC where just a black screen pops up and tells you you fucked up you should not kill them and have to reload a save file. I also doubt they are going to fix it since it is a lot of work.

  9. I hate to compare cp to the Witcher 3 but it's actually pretty apparent when you see how the guards in say, navigrad, they'll best you up and knock you out and take some money and that's it. If you leave the city/town then they leave you alone.

  10. I don't know how can CDPR ever fix this, for now I try to avoid every conflict. With the current system you're supposed to behave nicely on the streets.
Never really liked GTA's wanted system either so it's not problem for me in Cyberpunk.

  11. The jokes on you cos many Max Tac are cyberpsychos as find out if save posh clothing shop Jungi (or something) from an attack where the Lady Cop was a Cyberpsycho speaks & acts like it too. Like your clips keep it up; be safe all

  12. The police wanted system needs to be destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up, it's absolutely broken! And you can't even bribe cops and different mercs will not come after you. CDPR straight up lied with the marketing for this game. Night City feels dead. Still an awesome game though. I just wish CDPR had been more honest.

  13. Here’s how I’d tackle the crime system if I were CDPR:
    – Tone the difficulty and aggression on ncpd down a bit. Right now, cop ai works like gang ai. There’s no reason that standing close to a cop should turn them hostile, and they cut you down so quick that actually police shootouts are almost impossible to get into
    – Commit a crime, cops show up. They tell you to drop your weapon. They count down from five, giving you time to holster it. You can:
    A. Not holster it and fight you’re way out. Similar to GTA, cops give chase, and you need to try to shake them. Use your stealth skill to hide until your stars disappear.
    B. Holster it. A cop will approach and attempt to arrest you. You can then:
    1. Pass a Cool check to talk your way out (check difficulty corresponds with wanted level)
    2. Bribe the cops to let you go (cost of bribe corresponds with wanted level)
    3. Surrender and do your time. Screen fades to black and you appear outside the nearest police station, and your Street Cred level decreases
    – Have the cops come to you in cars or armored vehicles or something, not just spawn on you.
    – Add a bounty system where if you escape the cops they’ll recognize you if they see you and try to apprehend you or send bounty hunters after you down the line (Maybe for a price you can clear your bounty with a Fixer or something).

  14. I would like a system where the NPCD crimes in progress appear and work on a count down timer, if you stop the crime before it fully plays out you get a rep bonus (would require a rep system) or even loot bonus from grateful citizens.

  15. this will be eternally the penultimate most disappointing game ever. This will never get good. Im. playing it via geforce now, refunded my ps4 copy a. month ago.

    its just s pretty fps.

theres zero of what made made the witcher 3 groundbreaking in this game.

    Im sad

  16. Even the wanted system in Saints Row series is better than Cyberpunk. They send more and more forces with more and more improved weapon, including helicopters, special forces and the cool down system takes way longer to go away than Cyberpunk.

  17. I don't believe it's just the wanted system that is broken, but also it's purpose in general. During my ~50+ hours with the game, I never had a single reason to interact with it outside of accidentally hitting a civilian with a grenade.

  18. After the last update I've noticed the police are even more aggressive. I have to run around an entire sub-district just to lose the wanted level on foot. In a car or motorcycle I lose it immediately still. Anyways I usually fear the NCPD most in the game, because they can spawn endlessly and are very difficult to do deal with, I'm also playing on the hardest difficulty maybe that also plays in.

  19. There is a lot to do in this matter. I really believe thay can manage to do this. In my opinion 1.2 will bring more bug fixes and performance improvements. 1.3 will bring some new features. In my opinion CDPR should actually aim for 2.0 which would mean – complete revamp of car traffic, gangs and police system. Improved AI. Better vendors system, car customisation. O think all of the above might elevate cyberpunk from being really good game to the level of amazing game we all been waiting for. At this stage game literally luck police and gangs system, traffic is just a pseudotraffic.
