  1. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this with the adventures and the building.
(but OMG it's rough watching these early "blind" playthroughs as they figure stuff out. I end up screaming at the screen…. LEFT! LEFT. It's the blinking hammer button you…..) LOL

  2. There is a first person mod. Although I wouldn't recommend it for combat because the shield blocks your vision. One thing that is nice about it is that you can easily switch between 3rd and first person using the scroll wheel.

  3. oh and you may want to also check out the Valheim plus mod. The main thing of interest would be the advanced building features.
edit…. watching Gopher trying to pick up stuff. With valheim plus you can alter the pick up distance. It's a nice QOL feature that removes one of the annoyances of the game.
edit#2. Valheim plus also allows you to set up so that whatever areas you uncover on the map are shared between people playing in that world. Map markers are not shared however.

  4. Pro tip. Things like mushrooms and raspberries will respawn after a few days. Since things like mushrooms can be hard to find/see, you might want to mark your map where you find them. It can really help out early game when that is primarily what you're eating. It will also be helpful later on when you start making better foods and potions as you will need quite a few of them. Also, start bee keeping early and don't skimp on farming when you start. Having a larger farm early will pay off later. One last thing, get a bow (or spear) and start killing the seaguls who will give you feathers. You will need the feathers to make different kinds of arrows later. Again, it's another thing if you start doing that early you'll be better off later on when you really need them.

  5. So how cool. Newly dead from Midgard, you're test for Valhalla is to defeat rhe bosses. Assisting you, because the transition into death and life again cost you some skills, Odin sends you Thought and Memory (Hugin and Munin) to guide you. That rocks! I love this game. It is gorgeous! 🦅🐿💚

  6. If you honestly only see the trailer for the game, it would be a hard pass for most people. First day I played it I sank 4 or 5 hours in it. My first death, was like many people, a tree falling on me.

  7. …… this video…. is Gopher doing ok? I feel like there's a cognition issue going on. I mean seriously…. concerned. Chay constantly repeating himself. "Hammer icon on the left" Gopher's mouse go to the right after passing right next to the flashing hammer icon. I dunno…. like not being mean… genuine concern.

  8. There are very specific circumstances in which we women can grow beards, Gopher, most of them involving drugs Vikings didn't have.

"My dream got interrupted." Realism, Gopher. Realism.

  9. You're not Valkyrie, Gopher. You're Einherjar doing trials and tribulations after your death in Midgard, so you can finally get sent to Valhalla and fight alongside Odin. Valkyrie is the grim reaper taking your soul and putting your soul into test (in this game, Valkyrie is the one putting you into Valheim)
