If you take out your knife and time it right at the time the hit registers you can take out your gun then switch back which will be faster than waiting for the knife animations, this works espicially well with the right click
The left click is faster but in a knife fight it's going to be harder to land 3 hits instead of 2 so it's worth right clicking over left clicking in a knife fight

May I ask usually people knife easily while outting out their gun, does it makes no noises?
tip: if you switch to any gun and immediately back to your melee after right clicking, you can right click noticeably faster
