Video Game Audio Ep.1 – Sound Design / Synthesis Basics for Sound Effects

Whatsup YouTube!

Today we’re embarking on something different. Something that has been fascinating me recently is the world of video game audio – from Sound Effects to Interactive Music and everything in between! I want to start this series to talk about my journey into this field, and some of my discoveries and other things to look out for, for those looking to get into video game audio!

Hope you enjoy!

BTW, I learned most of the stuff I applied in my game from these channels:

  1. great Tutorial! Turn the Volume down, especially with headphones, there are some NASTY frequencies in this Video! I suggest to avoid headphones/earplugs!

  2. So, he wants to make game sounds and there are no companies which want to use his free services, no matter how good they are, so he makes a game by himself – that’s Dash ladies and gentlemen. There is nothing he can’t achieve.

  3. I did a lot of sound design for game dev jams and imo you get the best results from actual field recordings. Sure, in the end it really depends on the type of game but if f.e. foot steps sound like actual foot steps it helps so much to identify with the Charakter.
Great Projekt mate, gamesound is so underrated, most people never think about how much Impact it has for the gameplay ❤️
