Today, let’s talk about a league of legends champion mechanic that has been ‘revived’ this season with all of the different reworks during Season 11. With the Sona rework, Lucian Rework, and Viktor reworks, we’ve seen an interesting stacking mechanic come back into the game, one that was lost forever… or so we thought. This video was written, produced, edited, and voiced by Kellen (Exil)

  1. Note – This video didn't mention Cho'Gath because I had him in the voice over and the script, but then that one section of the audio file corrupted 🙁 I didn't notice until like 1 hour before the video needed to be up so I had to edit it out. F in the chat for Cho

Also someone said I didn't mention Garen W and you're right, oops. That one is kinda boring though :p

  2. I feel like the Pokemon MOBA did things surprisingly better in some aspect
    (compared to league)

(I guess you could argue about the whole- Pokemon is P2W, and, yes.)
(but if you played both you'll know what I mean)

  3. you know what we really need in game for years is when you buy an item the champ can have a cosmetic to have the item be visible on champion so you get crit lulu wielding a bunch of bows and sword

  4. I don't really like that riven idea for any champion, while I'm not the biggest fan of the mythic items either as I was an avid manamune rusher on everything I played, the problem with your suggestion is just the lack of diversity a champion can have. What has been my favorite champion of all time has been Poppy for her relatively easy kit to learn but so many different ways you could take her. Lethality assassin Poppy, full cc protect the president Poppy, full tank engage Poppy, and my favourite was bruiser assassin poppy. What made her fun to play and see was the fact that over 7 of the keystones in league were viable on her depending on how you wanted to build her. Guardian for support, aftershock, grasp for full tank, all 3 of the lethality runes, some of the precision runes. If you could make a system like that which will compliment every poppy play style and then do that for every champion, then sure but runes and items are sufficient at it right now

  5. 35:14 that sounds a lot like Heroes of the Storm
The quest system of HotS just works, and power progression being locked behind hero specific abilities removes the problem of "we designed this item for supports but now mages are using it to break midlane" or "marksmen are abussing assasin items"

I like Heroes of the Storm for this particular reason, and for the fact that Blizzard semi-abandoned dveelopment and they aren't shuffling everything arround every month and breaking half the heroes. And you don't have to deal with Rito's client, but tbf the battlenet client is pretty slow and unresponsive.

Edit: I had to type this 4 times because youtube kept auto-deleting it. Turns out it considered battle dot net a link and labeled it as spam… Silly website

  6. I think all 3 are bad (for the most part)

Items are too strong, Runes are too strong, and if we focus too much attention into stacking passives, I believe that could enviably turn into a detriment as well.

Although I think it’s a fun idea to contemplate 🙂
And I’m 100% down for gutting everything (items and runes) and making the game more barebones.

Team fights would last more then 4-6 seconds again 🥲
    I’d be so happy.

  7. When I came back to the game, I thought Viktor's abilities upgrading as you farm was weird, but on the other hand, that's literally how the Hex Core worked anyway.
Also, the extra damage on the E augment being able to miss is sad.

  8. TBH I do think, that overall a stacking passive that provides late game scaling to a champion is fairly healthy for the right kinds of champion. I don't like the focus of RIOT on new Champions and would love to see more GU's or VGU's, because quite some of their champs do need one, but overall I think they brought champions back into a more playable and balanced place with their mini reworks. Sona, TK, Diana and Victor were all pretty much non existent prior to their mini-reworks and now all 4 have a place in the meta
