  1. What a shame, I absolutely love the game. Never once was I bored. (Maybe after I actually did everything.) This game has a very good story to tell, and very well developed characters to show. It sucks that this was rushed. So much content was cut, and no patch will fix that. They cut the bounty system, they cut the train system. They cut so many immersive things, and its sad. I have high hopes for the future of this game and it's expansions and sequels. They can only go up from here

  2. good riddance, i say. these games are too ambitious and need to dial it back. a game that takes 8 years to develop is unwieldy. developers have to change the entire infrastructure of their engines to adapt to potentially two new console generations when a game is in development for that long. consoles dying out would help alleviate this

but still, if i have to wait 4 extra years so that a game can have SuPeR ReAliStiC NPCs (which never works out, by the way. save a couple million of dollars of development time by cutting that out) and pointless NPC animations, i'll go without them, thanks. trying to shove all this nonsense fluff into games introduces a billion sources of bugs and needs for optimization

  3. I think the more real problem is the game industry hoards technology for itself like a dragon. Games brag mounts, quicksaves, fast travel, intelligent AI etc whilst other franchises have been doing it for years. There's no synergy, which means game companies start from scratch, the base being whatever engine they're on. It's why devs get excited when a new engine comes out – coders have done the hard bit, now all they do is slap assets on the top. – Superhero movies.

I'm honestly surprised Publishers with all their money haven't started consuming studios for their coders yet, it's the next step for the industry. For now stick to indie, they're doing what you're talking about.

  4. I totally agree with you both. I think everyone is to blame to be honest. Thinking of the actual development team for a second, they must of had so much anxiety and worry due to: gamers who wanted the game out asap , the investors who wanted the game to be released so they can get their investment back the marketing team/higher ups who probably have never developed a game in their lives who were pushing the team

    -Bad management
    -Bad communication

  5. its only been a dizaster on PS4 lol which EVERYONE EXPECTED. the PS4 couldnt generate Donkey Kong 64 without crashing. dont be dramatic. Cyberpunk will be fine. CDPR will sell its rights to Microsoft. Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2100 will be huge money makers on PC and Xbox Series X. nothing to see here folks.
