The Xbox Series X is an extremely exciting next gen gaming console. However after the initial installation currently it has early adopter issues. I go over the unboxing, installation, some of the good points and some of the issues with the new Xbox Series X.
Review
The Xbox Series X is a great console. If you are an early purchaser you may run into some trouble though. So don’t let people scare you away. I will go over some common issue and then the benefits of the Xbox Series X. I ran into two major issue when I started the console. The first was the console would not output 4K to the TV. I found that the tv and the xbox both auto detect each other and my TV was setting the HDMI to 1.4 instead of 2.1. When I changed the setting on the TV to be 2.1 the 4K resolution was resolved. This will most likely fix the 120hz if you have that and it is not working as well. The other issue for early adopters is the wifi. The wifi basically does not work or is working poorly. I did a lot of reading online and it sounds like this should get fixed with software updates. People have said when they turn security off or connect via a hotspot on the wifi then there wifi works. I don’t recommend this, I just plugged in the Ethernet chord which works good. So those are the early adopter issues, now for the good stuff. The best part of this console is the ssd which will improve game load times immensely. If you ever played a xbox game with a long load time you will be pleasantly surprised playing the same game on the new console. Also all the games I had transferred over, all I had to do was log into the console and they were all there to download. Basically every game will be better. Some games look better because of 4K. Some look better do to HDR. Also games such as Halo master chief collection have been enhanced to look better on the Xbox Series X. Games also have quick resume which saves the state of the game your playing. This means you can pick up where you left off without needing to get to a save point. Plus at some point games will only be playable on the new Xbox Series X and not the One. So if you have the money of course pick one up. However Microsoft did mention that they won’t make games exclusive for the first year. So you could wait until the end of 2021 if you are content with your current Xbox one. In closing the Xbox Series X is a great console with some early day problems but despite the issues I think it is well worth picking up if you can get one.

If you have a samsung tv or any smart tv, go into your general settings on the TV, and look for Input Signal Plus or HDMI Plus. Enable that on the HDMI port that the Xbox is on. That should give you 4K. I also recommend Game Mode Picture setting. Hope this helps.
