Don’t give a fuck power of exclusives matter. But I will say Sony fucked up if they don’t have stuff like SFS VRS or mesh shading. Once devs start fully utilizing that stuff it would be the difference between 30fps and 60fps or 1440p and 4k. But as long as games run a minimum of 1080p 60fps I’m ok. Sony has there super fast transferring of data but we don’t know if that will free up as much performance
So the moral of the story is the series x runs old gen games better 👏 now I understand why the ps5 outperforms the series x on new gen games. Cause Phil spencer was so focus on backwards COMPATIBILITY lmao. IMAGINE buying a console just to play old optimised games lmao
I'm sure both PlayStation and Xbox will both improve when the GDKs improve and devs get used to the tools. We should expect to see much bigger gains and improvements coming from the Xbox side in the next 12-18 months, as Xbox is a year behind in their development tools.
Xbox tools are new to developers, especially for console game development. PlayStation tool kits are based on PS4 Pro platform but with more features, and developers have said that it's very easy to develop for PS5 and get more out of the box. Sony definitely has an advantage in that respect for early game development, but Xbox is doing very well considering Series S and X potential has barely even been touched.

Pathetic; like I thought, Hitman 3 was an outlier, not the start of a reversing trend. Microsoft should consider designing a game console and server system separately for next gen, instead of trying to force one design to do both.

Microsoft invested in Backwards Compatability years prior to the announcement in 2015. Which is now paying off for Xbox One games running on Series X today. They built the hardware with BC in mind. And once developer's really get to grips with the hardware newer games will be faster and perform better
The dev kits will improve for both consoles, games will look better and or perform better. Some games may look and perform better on the PS5, while others may look and or perform better on the Series X. It all depends on the developers, lead platform, resources, etc. Just remember numbers on paper don't always translate to real world performance.
I'm just gonna say it right now: The Xbox Series X is a flop, and an absolutely pathetic console.
Its underperforming in comparison to the Playstation 5, despite being more powerful. And people talk about how the "tools" aren't mature yet and they will get better over time. Well, what makes you say that the Playstation tools wont get better, either?
And then theres the controller. Its the same controller from 2013, except for the new share-button,
(which the Playstation already had since 2013). Meanwhile, on the Dual-Sense, you got Haptic Feed Back, Motion control, Adaptive triggers, a built in mic, and a trackpad, all of which are not present on the Xbox Controller.
Then you got the UI. It's the exact same UI that the Xbox One has, and the only thing they added is the live backgrounds (which the PS4 had since 2013). On top of that, you can't stream your game to your friends, which you can do on the Playstation 5. And also, twitch streaming is better on the Ps5, because you got all of the comments that load up on the side so you can play and read the chat at the same time. Plus, the Playstation is superior in terms of recording. You can record for up to 60 minutes, and you can record at higher resolutions.
And then lets talk about the games. Playstation has a lot of strong Franchises, such as The last of us, Uncharted, God of War, Spiderman, Ghost of Thususmia, Horizon Zero Dawn, Sackboy, Killzone, Demon souls, and more.
All Xbox has is Halo, Gears and Forza.
Halo is a franchise that hasn't been doing too great ever since 343 took over. I mean look at Halo 5, its doing so bad compared to the other games that they didn't even give it a next-gen update. Halo Infinite has been delayed despite being worked on for 5 years, and they have already had a lot of people step down from the project.
The Playstation also has the superior accessory line-up, including a headset, camera, charging station, VR, and more. All Xbox has is the Elite-2, and I'll give them credit for that.
Any source on that "tools for the PS5 are the issue" type of claim? I heard the graphical issues seem to be a bug introduced with the patch 1.21.

Guys, there are two different visions. Xbox is more like a service now, mostly game pass and game studios and their consoles are updated with every major generation of new gpu, this way xbox is the perfect pc for the living room. You might miss some strategy games that you like (total war, company of heroes, crusader kings etc) and some sony exclusive deals but you pay less for xbox overall and you get a portable silent pc. On the other hand, sony tries to overhype some games but they are forgetting that most gamers are more than average iq guys. Right now I am playing Desperados 3 on game pass and I am really enjoying it because I played Desperados 1 when I was in high school. This is why for a pc guy, xbox would have most action and rpg/ sport games that he wants. I also respect people who grow up with playstation and love sony games.
The only reason xbox games look better on backwards compatibility is cause the best version was on xbox one x so games ran higher resolution better textures ect! So it wasn't tools but BANDWIDTH!!
Cmon, you dont buy a New xbox series x to play old games. Yes you can and that ok. There is to much talk about old games, but what about New games? I did buy ps5 and xbox series x to play New games, not old crappy games. Xbox just talk about tools, enhance old games and so on. Xbox dont Even have ONE New exlusive games at launch! And maby we dont get ONE New game before halo launch! This is just bullshit! You dont buy a New next console to use to play just old games…. Control runs better on the ps5 and has a smaller size. It’s going to be back and forth in the generation. Some games Xbox is going to have advantage and some ps5 will have advantage.

Don’t get me wrong, I like to play older games, but when you get a next gen console is because you want next gen graphics and new release games, but now you got next gen consoles playing old games in higher FPS and with better textures, that’s not bad but because they are focusing in older games the company’s cannot deliver new raw material like they should. That’s just my simple opinion

So basically some games will run better on ps5 and some on the x box. I think it’s all up to developers and how they choose to use the hardware available. Any games with differences are usually so small that most people can’t tell anyway. So seems a little bit pointless. I guess the only takeaway from this video is tools, tools, tools and more tools.
