  1. Due to the EPIC timed EXCLUSIVE for a WHOLE year… this game is going to lose a lot of money due to the masses of torrented versions. I noticed a few sites already have it drop on 20th Jan.. it's messed up but at the same time I can understand why people would want to do it.. kick in the balls to people on pc that want it on steam etc.

  2. They perfected the formula with Hitman 2016, Hitman 2 lived up to that, and all Hitman 3 needs to do is be as good as those two. If it does that, take the entire trilogy together and you have one of the all time great videogame packages. And the fact that I get to play it all in VR soon makes me even more excited

  3. Honestly, this whole VR thing sucks– for a few reasons. Firstly, VR users are "techy" people. They're the people who care about graphics, pixels, etc. They're the type who buy 3080s and 3090s. They want the best, they pay for the best, and they aren't going to be willing to sacrifice so much quality to play on the least impressive headset. They'll just buy a different game for their PC VR sets.

Secondly, you "play with the Dualshock"?!? Maybe that's just a misunderstanding and PS Move controllers will end up being supported. But if not, I'm sorry, but this tells me that IO Interactive just doesn't understand what makes VR special. 3D and head tracking is about 50% of it, yes, but being able to reach out with a motion controller and grab a gun, pull the slide back with your other hand, hold it in front of you and fire it is at least as important. VR with your hands tied to a controller feels like a trade-show gimmick from 5 years ago. I'm going to give IO the benefit of the doubt here and assume they will be supporting move controllers for this game, and Game Informer just didn't know.

Lastly, PSVR is headed for a quick death. The "techy" people I spoke of above are already moving on to PS5. And Sony showed how much they care about PSVR by not spending the $0.90 per unit it would have cost to put a port on the PS5 to natively support PSVR's required camera. They made an adapter special-request-by-mail only because they're well aware that the VAST majority of people will not bother. They'll just stick their PSVR in the closet and move on.

This last fact really sucks. Because developing this exclusively for the least impressive, most quickly-dying headset means IO is going to see very very little engagement with the VR version of Hitman 3, and that's going to give them the overall impression that nobody cares about VR and it's not worth putting more money and effort into. But there's a significant Half Life Alex and Boneworks crowd out there, and they would eat this game up. But every choice IO is making seems geared to make sure those people cannot give them money. This will be a big mistake.

I hope whatever money Sony has given them is enough to make up for the loss of sales and engagement from people like me (people who own a PSVR, but are not even going to bother with it for all the reasons stated above).

  4. This is definitely looking smoother than the first two hitman games. The animation transitions look so polished. The movement of the gun from the back to the hand looks so fluid. And the kill animations are just gonna blow us all away

  5. This game rebooted in the most badass way possible. The start was shaky with people not really adhering to the episode style, but gladly IO got to keep the ip and did wonders.

  6. a bunch of guys who arent really fans of the series talk about it is kinda… come on now. You couldnt get any fans of the game on your staff to try it out and play it? A lot of people love these games and hold the new trilogy as one of the pinnacles of the stealth action genre.

  7. This conversation doesn’t seem to be coming from a genuine interest in the characters, stories, or gameplay. Y’all do a much better job with games like Miles Morales. Hope to see coverage of games that are a better fit for the Game Informer panel instead of doing a disservice to the panel involved as well as the actual games being covered.

  8. The last two installments are among the best games of all time, CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. Can't wait for the third one, but I can't stand this stupid and cliché tendency for going for a 'grittier' and 'darker' tone – it mostly makes games more bland and boring.

  10. Hitman is one of the very few stealth franchises still alive. Hitman and Splinter Cell are among my favorites. It’s sad Ubisoft won’t budge with making a new or continuation of the splinter cell series and it’s sad

  11. Best thing about hitman is that missions are all diverse and their own thing. You dont have to replay the whole campaign to make a different build or different choices. You just fuck around in each levels multiple times and thats alot of fun.

  12. The UK murder investigation level sounds really interesting. Is it only that level that allows that sort of thing or do other levels offer this? Would be great if each level had a new alternative style to play.

  13. I feel like stealth games changed in a good way with Splinter Cell Conviction; that was the moment where stealth gameplay became more modern. When it allowed for you to make mistakes, and the game would adapt with you, rather than force a restart.

  14. I'm probably in the minority here, but I haven't been a fan of the new Hitman games. I'll play Hitman 3, but I'm not exactly excited for it, especially since it hasn't really changed much from Hitman 2.

  15. I was the same. Wasn't a fan of the episodic levels, but after coming back to Hitman (2016)–only 2-3 weeks ago–I started loving it, then bought, played and finished Hitman 2 and now I'm more exited for Hitman 3 than I am for, let's say, the day when Cyberpunk 2077 will actually become good/playable.
